Jimmy "Jim" B. Lowe, 69, life long resident of Creston, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in DeKalb, Illinois. Jim was born April 27, 1945 to Joe A. and Beatrice H. (Day) Lowe in Rochelle, IL. He was a pressman for the DeKalb Daily Chronicle for many years. Jim was an avid Cub's fan, rarely missing a game. He also loved model trains, planes and classic cars. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his son, Shawn (Stacey Cole and her son, Cole Girardot) Lowe of DeKalb, IL, brother, Dennis Lowe of Arkansas and sister, Jeanette (Ron) Mosback of DeKalb, IL, nephew, Ronald Mosback Jr. and niece, Diann Docter.
The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 Sunday, the 21st. Burial will follow the funeral service at Trinity Memory Gardens, Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Railroad Museum.
