Jo Ann Orr, 90, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025 at Manor Court in Rochelle, Illinois.

Jo Ann was born on July 4, 1935 to Guy and Maude (Hamilton) Hogg in Chicago, IL. On October 27, 1956, she married Robert J. Orr in Maywood, IL. He passed away on October 3, 2008.

Jo Ann worked in her husband, Robert’s, accounting firm for several years. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and going to casinos. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the squirrels. She always made sure they had plenty of food, so they would be sure to come around quite often, keeping her continually entertained. She helped with selecting scholarship recipients for the Rochelle Women’s Club in Rochelle. Jo Ann especially loved spending time with her family, nieces, nephew and their children. She was very supportive of her children and went out of the way to do whatever she could to help them.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, David Orr of Aurora, IL; daughter, Helen Orr of Escondido, CA; nephew, Chip Busching of Rockford, IL; two nieces: Leslie (Clint) Myers of Kings, IL and Tracey (Jeff) Leininger of Rochelle, IL and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, Jo Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Busching and brother-in-law, Al Busching, Jr.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home of Rochelle. Burial will be at the Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
