JOAN A. STREITBERGER, age 70, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. Born October 9, 1937 in Chicago, IL, she moved to Glen Ellyn, IL upon her marriage to her beloved husband, George H. Streitberger, 50 years ago. She moved with George to Rochelle, IL in 1992.

She was the loving mother of eight children: Carol, Jane, Laura, Will, Lisa (Barry), Tom, Rich, and David. She is also survived by her sister, Pat (Don) Miller, her brother, David (Diane) Hansen, sister-in-law Doris Springer, and grandchildren Thomas and Hailey Brighton, Sean and April Pope, Hillary, Hannah, and Hope Streitberger, and Bria Petkovich. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Joan dedicated her life to her family and to the service of others within the community. Her commitment to the service of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the cornerstone of everything she did in her life. Joan epitomized grace and beauty, and was a friend to all in need. Her life has left an everlasting impact on all she loved, and was a true example to everyone who crossed her path. She leaves behind a legacy of great faith and dedication, and will forever be remembered for her loving kindness, strength, and courage. She will be missed by all and carried in the hearts of many forever.

Visitation will be held at Unger Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle, IL on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 10:00 am with Father David A. Peck officiating.
Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Rochelle.
