Joane "Marie" Schabacker, age 93, died on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Generations Nursing Home in Byron. She was born on March 5, 1929 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Maynard and Evelyn (Baxter) Troxell. She married Orval Schabacker on May 31, 1947, he preceded her in 1999. Marie loved and enjoyed raising her family and the time shared with them. She loved sewing and making quilts. Her family all have a knitted afghan made from her loving hands.

She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanette Miller, son-in-law Robert Miller, sister Helen Windland, grandsons John Kusnierz and Troy Keip, and daughter-in-law Diana Schabacker.

Survived by her 4 children: Eugene (Karen) Schabacker, Kerry Schabacker, Brian (Cindy) Schabacker, and Joane (John) Knoll; 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 9:00-10:50 am at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 North 6th Street, Rochelle, IL. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am on Monday with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery. Guest book at www.ungerhorner.com
