Joanie J. Cain Sims, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. She was born on April 17, 1949 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Geraldine Johnson Sims. She worked as a CNA. Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle. Joanie is preceded in death by her parents, brother: Bill Sims, and brother in law: Evan Simmons.

Survived by her son: David (Melissa Richards) Kubas of Lacrosse, WI;
daughter: Joanie Kubas of Rockford; 3 sisters: Jeanie Simmons, Gayle (Rich) Mayle, Shirley Graves; 4 grandchildren: Dillon Kubas, Max Kubas, Trey Dixon, and Jazmyn Kubas; special friend: Lisa Wilcynski, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established.
