JoAnn F. Echelbarger, 71, passed away in her home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. JoAnn was born on November 27, 1947 to Robert and Margaret (Beck) Newcomb in Chicago, Illinois. She married David Echelbarger on September 25, 1966 in Dover, IL. JoAnn worked at Caron International for many years. She loved spending time with her family and adored her cats. Sewing, "crafting" and decorating for the holidays were favorite past times.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert F. Echelbarger on August 30, 1986; sister, Judy Mills and granddaughter, Mary Echelbarger.

JoAnn is survived by her husband of 52 years, David of Rochelle; four children: Toni (Scott) Asbell of Freeport, IL, Jason Echelbarger of Rochelle, Dale (Sherry) Echelbarger of Stillman Valley and Peggy Echelbarger Copeland of Rochelle; seven grandchildren: Charles Echelbarger, Danette Echelbarger, Travis Echelbarger, David Echelbarger, Kortney Echelbarger, Megan Copeland, and Tyler Echelbarger; six great grandchildren: Cameron, Danica, CJ, Lillith, Charlotte and Betty; two brothers: Michael Newcomb and Robert Newcomb; and two sisters: Pam (Tommy) Crider and Margaret Kirk.

The visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
