John Adolf Ammon, age 93, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Prairie Crossing Living and Rehab Center in Shabbona, IL. He was born on August 5, 1920 in Washington, WI, the son of Rudolf and Fannie Schaer Ammon. John married Hilda Bahler on August 15, 1951, she preceded him in death on August 23, 2009. He was the owner operator of the Monroe Bakery in Monroe Wisconsin for 40 yrs and then the Rochelle Bakery for over 20 years before retiring.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Rudolf "Rudy" Ammon.

Survived by his special friend and care giver, Laura Becherer of Rochelle; 3 sisters: Ethel Anding, Mildred Stucee and Marlene Williams; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Rev. Cindy Marino officiating.

Burial of his cremated body will be held at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe Wisconsin.
