John D. Birdwell Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home. John was born December 6, 1929 to John D. And Lucille A. (Melinfoski) Birdwell in Chicago, IL. He married LaVerne A. Baratka on April 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2007. He was also predeceased by his son, Jay Michael Birdwell, parents; Lucille and Albert Misek and John Birdwell Sr., son-in-law, Thomas Knutson and sister, Barbara Seabold.

John worked as a machinist, teamster and diesel mechanic for 35 years. He loved roller skating, fishing and boating. He was an avid reader and spent endless hours tinkering in his garage.

Survivors include four children: Albert (Kathleen) Birdwell, Paul (Cindie) Birdwell, William (Jacalyn) Birdwell and LuAnne Knutson; Corey Waller, sister, Eleane Noland of Colorado, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
