John "Ed" Edward Ramsey, 88, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Rockford, Illinois. Ed was born on August 18, 1931 to John L. and Edna L. (Gibbs) Ramsey in Russellville, Kentucky. He proudly served with the United States Army. On February 6, 1960, married Deborah Kinchen in Rochelle, IL. Ed worked for Rochelle Printing for many years.

Ed is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Deborah of Rochelle; two children: Mark Ramsey of Miami, FL and Susan (James) Ramsey-Jorgenson of DeKalb, IL; his brother, Richard Ramsey of Rockford, IL; five grandchildren: Derek (Kayla) Ramsey-Aquino, Melanie and Lorraine Ramsey-Aquino, Tristan and Alexa Komadina and great granddaughter, Azaileah "Leah" Komadina.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son, James Ramsey on November 28, 2009; his sister, Mary and three brothers: Frank, William and George.

The visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to the family.
