John Henry Louis Combs, age 24, while out of state working on a storm restoration project, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 4, 2024 in Montgomery Alabama.  He was born on January 20, 2000 in  Rockford, IL, the son of Christopher and Cheryl (Bowlen) Combs.  John was a dedicated Local 196 Journeyman Lineman and owner and operator of Combs Complete Insulation, who was a joy to be around.  He had an infectious kindness, spending many years at the Diamond G Ranch, where he rode horses and participated in rodeos.  John liked to build and ride motorcycles, raise cattle and listen to music.  He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Carol Bowlen and uncles: Ron and William Bowlen.

John is survived by his father, Christopher Combs; brother, Patrick Combs; mother, Cheryl Combs; grandfather, Don Combs; grandmother, Kathy (Robert) Skattum; uncle, Scott (Megan) Combs; special cousins: Leon Combs and Chris Bowlen; many special friends and "his" dog, Toby.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Rochelle Diamond G Ranch, 4564 S. Knoll Rd., Rochelle on October 26, 2024, serving lunch at 1:00 P.M.
