John Myroth Jr., 83, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 in Rockford, Illinois. John was born February 13, 1931 to John Sr. and Hazel (White) Myroth in Rochelle. He served our country proudly as part of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He farmed and later drove truck for Macklin Brothers in Rochelle. John was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 3878 in Rochelle. He also was a member of the United Methodist Church of Steward.
John is survived by his son, Jeff (Cindy) Myroth of Roscoe, his brother, Wayne (Wynetta) Myroth of Rochelle, his sister, Wanda (Dale) Macklin of Steward, two granddaughters: Cassandra and Abigail Myroth, and fiancé Frances Karper.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be Monday, June 16, from 4-7 P.M. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
