John K. Thielemann, 87, of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at Rochelle Rehabiliation Center in Rochelle. He was born on March 27, 1925 in Blue Island, IL to George J. and Mary Ellen (Manau) Thielemann. He was a long time resident of Evanston, IL and attended St. Athanisius Church and School. John married Mary Jane Pinner on Dec. 1, 1956 in Chicago, IL. He was a pharmaceutical salesman and was employed by Stanback for 25 years and Johnson and Johnson for 12 years. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army in Southern France. Since moving to Rochelle in 1999, John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother: Donald of Charleston, IL.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Jane of Rochelle; sons: John F. Thielemann (Gerianne and sons Caleb and Ian) of Johnson Creek, WI and Paul E Thielemann (Theresa and son Mitchell and daughter Stephanie) of Bozeman, MT; daughter: Mary Ellen Thielemann of Elgin, IL; Brothers George Thielemann of West Palm Beach, Fl. and Frederick Thielemann of Belgrade, MT.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, prior to the service on Thursday at St Patrick Church. Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL, assisted the family with cremation rites. Memorials to Rochelle Rehabilitation Center or to Serenity Home and Hospice.
