Jonitha “Jon” Lynn Marcum, age 68, passed away on January 1, 2026 at his home in Lindenwood, with his family at his side. He was born on September 8, 1957 in Winfield, AL, the son of Odus Rayburn and Kathleen (Dozier) Marcum. Jon married Susan Jean Gigous on February 1, 1978 in Oregon, IL. He worked as a fabrication engineer retiring from Skandia in Davis Junction. During retirement, he worked at Twistys Cycles as a motorcycle mechanic. Prior to Skandia, he worked at Swenson Spreader as a welder/foreman.

Jon loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the ducks go down the creek at their cabin, cheering on Alabama football and the Chicago White Sox, and having a few beers now and then. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers: Steve and Tommy Marcum.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Marcum; 2 Children: Bethanie (Joshua) McCullough of Toney, AL, and Tommy Marcum of Holcomb; 6 grandchildren: Katelynn Hurst, Kelcie McCullough, Jonithan McCullough, Makenzie Peterson, Marley Marcum, and Wesley Marcum; and his brother, Garry Michael Marcum of Winfield, AL.

Visitation will be from 1 - 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St, Rochelle. Graveside burial will follow at the Lindenwood Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
