José Antonio Reyes, 40, passed away unexpectedly while working out of state in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday, October 10, 2025.  José was born on June 15, 1985, the son of Gumaro Reyes Lopez and Josefina Nambo Belmonte in Cuitzeo, Michoacán, Mexico.  On April 1, 2005, he married Mayra Belmonte.

José was a man full of life, adventure, and kindness. He passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

An avid traveler, José found joy in exploring new places and seeking out life's adventures. Whether it was a road less traveled or a mountain trail made for four-wheeling, he was always ready for the next journey. His adventurous spirit was matched by his generous heart and his incredible talent as a handyman. José took great pride in fixing up the family home—a place filled with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished moments.

More than anything, José loved spending time with his family. Whether working on a project, riding through the mountains, or simply enjoying the day together, he made every moment count. His presence was magnetic—anyone who met José loved him instantly. His easy smile, helping hands, and genuine heart left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to cross his path.

José will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His adventurous spirit and loving nature will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

José is survived by his wife, Mayra of Rawlins, WY; his mother, Josefina Nambo Belmonte; four children: Jonathan, Maria Shantal, Antonio Abel and Enrique Sebastian Reyes; siblings: José Amparo, Bulmaro, María de Jesús, Rosa María, and Ana Michell Reyes Nambo.

The visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 20 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle, with Father Jesus Dominguez officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
