Joy A. Helton, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Rockford, IL. Joy was born December 22, 1947 to Thomas and Dorothy (Winchester) Chambers in DeKalb, IL. She married Junior Wayne Helton on August 4, 1978. Joy worked for Caron International for 24 years and then was a quality inspector for Rochelle Foods. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Florence Hector and brother, George Chambers.

Joy is survived by her husband, Junior, two children: Robert (Barb) Helton of Franklin Grove, IL and Barb (Jack) Evans of Cosby, TN; three brothers: Merle (Arlene) Chambers of Malta, IL, James (Micha) Chambers of Ontario, CA, and Donald (Jane) Chambers of Kingston, IL; six sisters: Juanita Copeland of Rochelle, Ruth Alice Elliot of Poinciana, FL, Carol Pate of Anamosa, IA, Judy (Merritt) Titman of Clarksville, TN, Cheryl (Richard) Harris of Wynne, AR and Kathy Fry of Mosheim, TN; seven grandchildren: Kristin (Drew Kaufman) Helton, Amber Helton, Chaz and Cheyenne Evans, Steven McBride, April McBride and Brittney Long and 2 great-grandchildren: Leah Kaufman and Colton McBride; 30 nieces and nephews and over 40 great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle with Pastor David Rogula officiating. The visitation will be Friday prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
