Judy L. Sassaman 70 of Rochelle passed away peacefully after a long illness on Saturday Sept. 11, 2010. She was born Aug. 13, 1940 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of Harold and Esther Eckhardt Wetzel. She married Ronald Sassaman June 10, 1960 in Rochelle. She was preceded in death by an infant son Ronald Scott Sassaman and her parents.
Judy was a member of Rochelle United Methodist Church and graduated from Rochelle Twp. High School in 1958. Judy worked for many years at Spurgeons Department Store. She then worked as a teller for Assoc. Bank and Lincoln State Bank before retiring.

She is survived by her husband Ronald of Rochelle, 2 daughters Sherri (Kevin) Smith of Holcomb, IL and Kimberly (Greg ) Burgess of Rochelle, a brother Corky (Linda) Wetzel of Rochelle and
four Grandchildren Tara and Alec Burgess and Kyle and Cody Smith.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15th at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, with visitation on Tuesday from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at Unger-Horner. Family has requested memorials to Rockford Memorial Hospital.
