Kathleen "Kathy" Anderson, 78 of Rochelle, went to her Heavenly Father on Wed. Oct. 21, 2009 at her home in Rochelle after a battle with cancer. She was born on June 17, 1931 in Blue River, WI, to Julius and Minerva (Coppernall) Dalberg. While she was in grade school, she was active in 4-H and served in many offices and played softball. She taught in rural schools in Wisconsin for several years. In 2009 she was
recognized as "Outstanding Alumni Member" by the University of Wisconsin Richland Alumni Association.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rochelle where she served as parish
secretary for four years and taught 6th grade religion class for 29 years and received the Bishop O'Neil award for outstanding teaching. She was Hillcrest Village clerk and president and served the Village for 40 years. She received the Hillcrest Heart Award in 1998 for outstanding contributions to the village. She also received the Illinois Woman of Illinois Achievement Award in 2002 from Lieutenant Governor Corrine Wood for outstanding performance in the Community.

Children were very important to her. She coached the Junior League Bowling
for several years at Chelle-Crest. She became a certified level one Junior Gold
Coach. She worked the past several years working with the Life Skill Children
which she dearly loved. Her past time was spent bowling which she was involved
in several bowling leagues. She would organize groups to go bowling in State and
National tournaments every year. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She attended many of their activities . The telephone calls and visits from the grandchildren were very special to her. Her "motto" was "What I have done in
my lifetime is something no one can take away from me."

Kathy was preceded by her first husband Vincent Johanning on March 17, 1961.
She then married Kenneth A. Anderson on Dec. 1, 1962 in Oregon, IL and he preceded her on Aug. 24, 2003. She was also preceded by her parents; 2 sisters: Jessie Mae and Gladys; and 3 brothers: Bernard, Buford and Donald.

Survivors include sons: Jerome (Sandy) Johanning, Roger (Patty) Johanning,
Eric Johanning, Brian Johanning, Kirk (Sandi) Johanning and John Anderson
all of Rochelle; daughter Pamela Schmidt of Rochelle; Brother: Rodney (Beverly)
Dalberg of Beloit, WI; sister: Virginia (Robert) Storms of Richland Center, WI;
18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren with on the way, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at
10:00 AM with Rev. Steven Lange. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 from 4 to 8 PM. In Lieu of flowers: Memorials to Ogle County Hospice. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens.
