Kenneth Robert Gittleson, age 73, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Rochelle, IL, the son of Marvin and Esther Lipske Gittleson. He married Kay Hardesty on October 23, 1971 in Oregon, IL. Ken drove a fuel truck for Rochelle Oil for 37 years, during which he also enjoyed farming and working at Delmonte. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Kathleen Haas.

Survived by his wife, Kay Gittleson of Oregon, 3 children: Jason (Natalie) Gittleson of Southern Pine, NC, Amy (Jeff) King of Byron, and Brian Gittleson of Oregon; 5 grandchildren: Angelina Gittleson, Marissia Gittleson, Taylor Fabish, Brooklyn King, and Ashleigh (Nick) Lamb and Ashleigh's mom: Mary Gittleson; great grandson: Kade Lamb; 3 brothers: Richard Gittleson of Rochelle, Wayne (Patsy) Gittleson of Aberdeen, MS, and Russ Gittleson of Belvidere, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Pastor Robert Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Unger Horner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Serenity Hospice and Home. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens.
