Kenneth Edwin Wright, 87, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 in his home in Rockford, Il. He was born September 26, 1926 in Malta, Illinois, the son of John and Ethel (nee Bradley) Wright. He married Laura B. Kaiser on July 10, 1956. They moved to Monroe Center in 1957 and to Rockford in 1980.
The most important things in Kenneth's life were God, his family and farming. He was a man of integrity. He always put what was right and fair above his own personal gain or satisfaction. He was active in his church, available to his children and committed to producing healthy food. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by sons, Mark (Deborah) Wright and Brad (Connie) Wright; daughters, Kathy (John) Miedema and Pam Wright; foster son Les (Deb) Kurz; and 8 grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah), Michelle, Megan, Andrew, Jeff, Nathaniel, Daniel, and Katelyn; sisters Florence Steben, Lura Cordes, Marjorie (Arnie) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Laura, his parents John and Ethel Wright; brother Hardin Wright; sister Carol Ficht; and grandson Isaac Wright.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 15 from 9:30 to 10:45 at the Union Church of Monroe Center. Funeral services will start at 11:00 with Pastor Nathan Thebarge officiating followed by interment at the Monroe Center Cemetery. A light lunch will be served at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Union Church of Monroe Center.
