KL "Dusty" Rhodes, age 80, of Rochelle, died on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home. He was born on July 2, 1931 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, the son of Dorcey T. and Dellie Davis Rhodes. He served in the US Navy and was a Korean War Veteran earning the Korean Service, United Nations, and the National Defense Service Ribbons, and also the Good Conduct Medal . Dusty owned and operated Rhodes Electric. Member of the V.F.W. Post 3878, Horicon Masonic Lodge 244, life member of the Tebala Shrine Freeport Consistory Scottish Rite. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 siblings: Troy, John Thomas, Madye, and Cleo.

Rhonda Kay (Brian) Byars of Ridott, IL
3 grandchildren: Ed Ebens, Jr. of Byron, Greg (Kari) Ebens of Byron, and Heidi (Brad) Marcum of Loves Park.
3 great grandchildren: Olivia, Neil, and Wyatt Ebens of Byron
sister: Doskie Williams of Rochelle
special friend: Carla Morrisson of Rockford
several nieces and nephews including: Donald and Dennis Williams.
A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th ST., Rochelle. Visitation will be from 6 - 7 PM on prior to the masonic service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Horicon Lodge 244, or PAWS Humane Society in Rockford.
Burial of his cremated remains will be at the Akin Cemetery in Vanndale, Arkansas.
