Larry Gerald Anderson, age 77, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Center with his family at his side.  He was born on October 3, 1947 in Rockford, IL, the son of Gerald and Marilyn (Ryden) Anderson.  He married Teresa Jo Wells on November 25, 1983 in Roscoe, IL.  Larry worked hard his whole life and liked to be involved in civil positions in the communities he lived.  He started as a busboy/ dishwasher as a child, did some factory work, worked with the Forestry Department in Bradford, PA, then at Allen's Fine China in Rockford.  He then received his bachelors degree and taught in Stillman Valley before receiving his PHD in Business Administration and working at Sentry Insurance.  Larry continued to work for the Northern IL Trade Exchange and then retired from his business, One Stop Financial, Inc.  Civically, over the years, he served as an Alderman of the 6th Ward in Rockford, and as a trustee, Secretary and Treasurer of the Village of Ashton.  But above all, He loved spending time with his family.

Survived by his wife, Teresa Anderson of Ashton, 3 sons: Ryan (Ashley) Anderson of Watertown, WI, Justin (Carrie) Anderson of Homosassa, FL, and Brant (Kristina) Anderson of Watertown, WI; 9 grandchildren: Jaylynn Anderson, Dyna Anderson, Skylur (Brittany) Anderson, McKenna (Eric) Anderson, Reece (Kennedy) Anderson, Raegan Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Braeden Anderson, and Jenna Anderson; 4 great grandchildren: Emmett Anderson, Cecelia Anderson, Jamison Anderson, and Abraham Anderson; 2 sisters: Vickie (Tom) Nichols, of Port Richey,FL, and Cheryl (Bill) Miller of Rockford, IL

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. - 2:50 P.M. on Friday, May, 30, 2025 at Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle, IL.  The Funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Jan Shaulis officiating.
