Larry D. Mason, 57, of Rochelle, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born on April 18, 1955 in Wynne, AR, to Franklin D. and Christine (Sellers) Mason. Larry and Gloria were married on December 30, 1994 in Cucuta, Colombia. He was formerly employed as a tow boat captain.

Survivors include his wife: Gloria L. Mason of Rochelle; son: Larry "Doug" Mason Jr. of Rochelle; 2 daughters: Crystal Star Mason and Geneva Shawn Mason both of Jeffersonville, IN; mother: Christine Wood of Hector, Arkansas; 2 brothers: Tom (Mona) Mason of Ramsey, MN, and Don (Linda) Pottinger of Oregon, IL; 2 sisters: Vicki Clark of Newport Arkansas, and Tina Pawass of Hector, Arkansas; 3 step siblings: Don (Joyce) Wood of Omaha, NE, Dale Wood of Rochelle, and Sherrie (Jess) Neal of Russellville, Arkansas.

Cremation rites were arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St, Rochelle, the family is having private services on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. A memorial has been established to the family.
