Lenore "Nonie" (Dearth) Stichter, 92, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Pinecrest Community in Mount Morris. She was born July 17, 1914, in Blanchardville, Wis, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Meudt) Dearth. Living on a farm, she rode her pony to and from a one-room schoolhouse in Blanchardville, where she was educated. She moved to Rochelle in the early 1950s. Lenore married Earl M. "Bud" Stichter on Oct. 25, 1952, in Forreston; he died April 5, 1977. Also preceded by her parents and brothers; William, Fred, Sherman and Joseph Dearth.
Lenore retired in 1974 from Caron International in Rochelle after 25 years and was a charter
member of Faith Lutheran Church. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and parakeets and also enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Tom) Preston of Oregon; brother, Robert (Shirley) Dearth of Monroe, Wis; sister, Ann (Gilbert) Kleckner of Madison, Wis; grandchildren, Ben (Brooke) Covell of Byron, and Gary M. Covell and William Covell, both of Oregon.
Funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 15, in Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, with Chaplain Richard Bright. Visitation will be one hour before service time Friday at Unger-Horner. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens. A memorials has been established.
