Leon Herbert Brownderville, age 84, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away April 29, 2013 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. Born April 21, 1929 in Whitton, Arkansas he was the son of the late Herbert Edward and Belle Easley Brownderville. He was of the protestant faith.

Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing his guitar and singing and bowling. He was in the Rochelle, Illinois Bowling League Hall of Fame. Leon and his late wife were members of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.

He was a mechanic several years in the Rochelle, Illinois area and later owned and operated the B & W Television and Appliance Store for some twenty five years. He retired and moved to Arkansas in 1991, primarily living in the Jonesboro, Arkansas area.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Foltz Brownderville and two sisters, Alta Motes and Laverta Hensley

Survivors include, two daughters, Brenda Ulery and husband Steve and Doris Dickey and husband Bud; one son, Galen Brownderville all of Rochelle, Illinois; companion and best friend, Helen Stein of Jonesboro, AR; two sisters, Mittie Robinson and husband Jim of Memphis, Tennessee and Charlene Willis of Harrisburg, Arkansas; four brothers, Carlos Brownderville and wife Winnie of Weiner, Arkansas, Boyce Brownderville and wife Loresa of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Alton Brownderville and wife Janie and Jerry Brownderville and wife Patty of McCrory, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jennifer Scott and husband Craig, Brian White, Jessica Nunley and husband Chris, Karie Gill and husband Ryan, Danielle Emerson and husband Layton, Katherin Brownderville, Clint Dickey and wife Kate and Shannon Dickey and wife Jennifer; eleven great-grandchildren and many friends.

Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Weiner, Arkansas with Bro. Eric Manuel officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time. Heber Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com.

Services will also be conducted at the First United Methodist Church in Creston, Illinois Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9:00 am, with Rev. Dr. Jin Yang Aim officiating. Visitation at Unger Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, Illinois will be Friday, May 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Unger Horner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
