Obituary
LeRoy V. Govig, 95, of Creston, passed away on Wed. June 25, 2008 at Rochelle Gardens
in Rochelle, IL. He was born on Aug. 7, 1912 in DeKalb County, IL, the son of John D. and Mabel (Olson) Govig. He married Margaret A. Berg on March 9, 1941 in Creston, and she preceded him on Aug. 5, 1999. He was also preceded by grandson: Jared Govig; 5 brothers: Dorven, Berdean, John L., Ordean and Oliver; 5 sisters: Francis, Bertha, Dora, Myrtle and Beulah. Prior to retiring, LeRoy farmed and was also a carpenter.
Survivors include a son: Leslie (Kay) Govig of Dixon; a grandson: Jason (Angela) Govig and 4 great grandchildren: Grace Olivia Govig and Liam Jared Govig all of San Jose, CA; grand
daughter-in-law: Talaria Govig and (daughters) great granddaughters: Ainsley Kasick Govig and Ella
Leslie Govig all of Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at
11:00 AM, with Rev. David Rasmussen. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner on Saturday,
from 9:00 AM to service time. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston. Memorials to:
Ogle County Hospice or to St. John Lutheran Church in Creston.
