Leta March Overby, 100, of Dixon IL, passed away Sunday Sept. 16, 2012 at the Serenity Home and Hospice in Oregon, IL. Leta was born Mar. 14, 1912 the daughter of John and May (Cunningham) Fleenor in DeKalb Co. IL. She married Walter Edwin Overby Sept. 1, 1932 in Leland, IL. Walter preceded her in death Dec. 15, 1989.

Leta was preceded by 2 brothers: Alton and Gerald Fleenor; 3 sisters: Hazel Crowder, Bernice Johnson and Loraine Mitchell.

Survived by 2 sons: Richard (Marilyn) Overby of Rochelle and Brian (Shinobu) Overby of Honolulu, HI; 2 daughters: Phyllis Jones of Rochelle and Anita (James) Rogers of Dixon, IL; 8 grandchildren: Liz (Chad Sarver) Overby, Denise (Doug) Sears, Kevin (Mary Strub) Rogers, Janaan (Tim) Mickey, Jeffrey (Dawn Sage) Jones, Jay (Karen) Jones, Joel (Beth) Jones and Katie (Stephen) Peterson; 11 great grandchildren: Trenner (Taylor) Sears, James Sears, Paul Rogers, Shelby and Ryan Mickey, Hunter, Hayden, Madison, Maxwell, Jack, and Sommer Jones; and 1 great great grand daughter: Eliana Sears.

A family graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb, IL. Unger-Horner Funeral Home assisted the family with cremation rights. Memorials may be made to the Serenity Home and Hospice in Oregon, IL.
