Lillie M. Capes, 80, of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL with her family by her side. Lillie was born August 25, 1937 to Dairel and Minnie (Edmison) Wilson in Four Mile Township, IL. She married Reuben "Pete" Capes on April 9, 1955 in Rochelle. Lillie enjoyed playing music and spending time with her family. Those who knew her called her "Dobro Lil" and considered her the best dobro guitar player in Northern Illinois.

Lillie is survived by her husband, Pete; her two daughters, Rhonda (Pete) O'Rorke and Christina Warner; five grandchildren, Brandi (Pat) McBride, Peter O'Rorke Jr., Amanda O'Rorke, Katie O'Rorke, and Jeffrey Warner; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Gonzales and brother, Glenn Johnson.

The visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. A private burial will follow at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
