Linda L. Wetzel, 65, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born June 16, 1948 in Rochelle, the daughter of William and Louise (Mosely) Eckhardt. Linda married H. W. (Corky) Wetzel Jr. March 4, 1973 in Rochelle. She was a 1966 graduate of Rochelle Township High School and worked for more than 42 years at Del Monte Corporation, retiring in 2010.

Linda is survived by her husband, Corky, two sons: Shawn (Jessica) of Cincinnati, OH and Mike (Shannon) of Algonquin, IL; grandchildren: Matt, Ben and Jake of Cincinnati, OH, Audrey and Tommy of Algonquin, IL; 4 siblings: Billie (Jim) Schnorr of Apex, N.C., Barbara (Bill) Heinen of St. Clair, MI, Augie (Kay) Eckhardt of Virginia Beach, VA and Tom (Nancy) Eckhardt of Portland, OR.

The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be from 1:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 15th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Rochelle Community Hospital. Cremation will follow the service.
