Lloyd W. Stroud, Jr., age 87, died on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his daughter's home with her by his side. He was born on April 30, 1924, in Mohawk, Tennessee, the son of Lloyd W. (Sr.) and (Willie) Iva Stroud. He graduated from McDonald High School is 1942. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was stationed with the 19th Bomb Squadron in Guam until he was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Catherine "Katie" Beardin-Gentry in 1947, she preceded him on July 10, 2011. Prior to retiring Lloyd worked at W.F. & John Barnes as an electrical supervisor.

Survivors include his daughter: Connie (Jim) Garrison of Rochelle; son: Donald LeRoy (Gail) Gentry of Green Valley, AZ; grandchildren: Todd Gentry of Chandler, AZ, Chad (Colleen) Gentry of Gilbert, AZ, Marcus (Bretta) Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA and Brook (B.J.) Miller of Dixon, IL; great grandchildren: Curren, Cali, and Caiya Gentry; Benjamin, Quinlan, and Zachary Miller; and Autumn Philp; as well as his brothers, Doyle of Clermont, Florida and Wayland of Michigan. Many loving friends and family have gone before to greet him and many left behind will mourn the loss of his smile.
Memorial service will be held at Wednesday, April 18, 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dr. James A. Tilley officiating, and Pastor Judy Williams assisting.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 17, at the First Presbyterian Church from 4:30 – 6:30 PM.
