Lois M. Lower, 90, Loving wife, mother and grandmother of Rochelle, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born on Nov. 29, 1916 in Ashton, IL, the daughter of
Claude Osborne and Eva Mary (Baker) Reed. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1934. Lois married William F. Lower on July 9, 1934 in Rochelle. Preceding her in death were a daughter: Mary Lower and 3 sisters: Marge Payne, Frances Pobstman and Helen Reed; 4 brothers: Dallas, Clare, John Warren Reed and Cyril Reed. Lois was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband Bill of Rochelle, a daughter: Kathleen (Tom) Aller of Cedar Rapids, IA and 3 sons: James (Julie) Lower of Katie, TX, Robert (Barbara) Lower of Mustang, OK, and Richard (Shirley) Lower of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother: Paul Reed of Petersburg, VA; a sister: Marion DeCourcey of Franklin Grove, IL; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sister-in-laws: Marge Reed of Topeka, KS, Vivian Reed and Celesta Reed of Rochelle.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 16, 2007 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. David Peck officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 - 7 PM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle and on Friday from 9 to 10:00 AM prior to the funeral at the Church.
Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.
