Lorraine Virginia Loper Rodefelt, 83, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. Lorraine was born on October 26, 1939, to Millard and Violet Loper in Jackson, MI. On November 12, 2004, she married Russell Rodefelt of Rochelle, IL. She enjoyed visiting with friends and socializing.

Lorraine( John Scott Thornton, Sr.,) was the mother of two sons, John Thornton, and Raymond Thornton, one daughter Brenda Sue Thornton Landowski Alveras. She was the grandmother of George "Tony" Landowski (Deb Water) and Angelique Desiree Hughes Morris,(Carol Morris) She was a proud great-grandmother of Alana Landowski , 15, and Starla Sky Landowski, 16 from George "Tony" Landowski; Tyler Thornton, from Raymond Thornton; Omar Antoine Harris, Jr, 26, Daijha Monae Harris, 22, D'ajhanae Antoinette Harris, 20, and (Step Great-Grandchild) Krystin Brianna Morris, 23, from Angelique Desiree Hughes Morris.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, on November 12, 2004, son John Thornton on February 23, 2010, and daughter, Brenda Thornton Landowski Alveras in 1992.

Cremation care was provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
