Lothar Sekularac, 62 of Rochelle, passed away unexpectedly at Loyola Hospital in Maywood, IL
while being treated for cancer. He was born on April 14, 1949 in Hanover, Germany to George
and Ida (Bartsch) Sekularac. In March of 1951, he and his family were one of the last families to
enter the U.S. through Ellis Island, and Lothar later became a U.S. citizen. Lothar was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the US Marine Corp. On Dec. 31, 1983, he married Judy L. Arnold in Wheaton, IL. Lothar was an iron worker for the Chicago Iron Workers Union. Memberships include the National Rifle Association and he was a life member of VFW Post 3878.
Survivors include his wife: Judy of Rochelle; mother: Ida Fischer of Rochelle; brother: Peter (Chris) Sekularac of Round Lake Beach, IL; and 2 nephews: Brandon and Brent.
Cremation rites were arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL. Burial of cremains will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
