Louise Moseley Eckhardt, age 89, died peacefully October 17th in St. Clair, MI.
Louise was born February 9,1919 in Hopkinsville, Ky. She was one of five children of Joseph and Ethel Moseley , all of whom predeceased her. She married William Eckhardt of Rochelle, IL
on November 8, 1941.They were married for fifty-seven years.
He preceded her in death September 5,1999.

Together they had five children. Billie (Jim) Schnorr, Apex, NC, Barbara (Bill) Heinen, St. Clair, MI, Augie (Kay) Eckhardt, Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas (Nancy) Eckhardt, Hillsboro, OR., and Linda (Corky) Wetzel Rochelle, IL.

She is survived by her children, 12 Grandchildren, and 23 Great Grandchildren. Two Grandchildren and a Great Grandchild predeceased her. She was a member of Rochelle United Methodist Church, Rochelle. She and Bill owned and operated The Mound Tap and Eckhardt's Dining and Cocktails in Rochelle from 1948 to 1976. Once retired, visiting family and especially grandkids was her passion.

Her first Grandson called her "Munka", and she was called that by family and friends ever since. Munka's family was the most important thing in her life. She never forgot her Kentucky roots, proudly declaring she was a "thoroughbred". Anyone who knew her will never listen to "My Old Kentucky Home" or see or hear a cardinal and not think of her.

Visitation will take place at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 5 - 8 PM. The funeral service will be at Unger Horner Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2008. The Reverend Brett A. Todd will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, those planning to make an expression of sympathy might consider the Rochelle High School Baseball Program or St. John's Hospice.
