Lindenwood

Louise Kurz, 96, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron, Illinois. Louise was born on October 2, 1925, the daughter of Archie and Ethel (Jacox) Balch in Friend, Nebraska. On May 7, 1949, she married Harold W. Kurz in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2002. She was one of the first female tellers at the First National Bank in Rochelle.

Louise was a member of the Lindenwood Union Church where she served on the board for several years. She was also a member and officer of the Christian Women's Club. Louise enjoyed gardening and stayed busy raising three children on the farm.

Louise is survived by her two children: Barry Kurz of Lindenwood, IL and Cathy Kurz of Jefferson, LA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Lyle Kurz on September 26, 2021 and two brothers: Archie Balch Jr. and Dale Balch.

The visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating. Burial is at Lindenwood Cemetery in Lindenwood, IL. Memorials may be made in Louise's memory to Serenity Hospice and Home.
