Lowell D. Ludens, age 80, of Rochelle, died in Davis Junction with his family at his side on Monday, October 15, 2012. He was born on March 16, 1932 in Lennox, SD, to Henry and
Rose (Frankin) Ludens. Lowell married Jeanette Geiken on Sept. 11, 1977 in Rochelle and she preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 2006. Also preceding him were a son: Ronald Ludens; 2 sisters: Grace Anderson, and Cornelia Brink; 5 brothers: Charles, Albert, Melvin, Henry and Matthew; and step son: Jeffery Pyne. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW Post 3878, Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 23 Union, and the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle. Lowell worked as a Plumber retiring in 1994.
Survivors include son: Randy Ludens; daughter: Robin Ludens of Rockford, IL; sister: Rosetta (Percy) Willer of Gilnan, IA; special sister-in-law: Mae Ludens of Rochelle; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle with Rev. Dr. James Tilley officiating and military services by the Eastern Lee Ogle Honor Guard.
