M. Eileen Olmstead, age 85, of Rochelle, passed away on Wed. Jan. 24, 2007 at her home.
She was born on April 23, 1921 in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of James E. and Daisy (Wyant)
Flanagan. Eileen married William Olmstead on Nov. 21, 1946 in Wichita, KS and he preceded her on Oct. 12, 2005. She was also preceded by a daughter Janice Listak in 1987, a granddaughter Becca Primrose; 3 brothers: Jim, Don and Bud Flanagan and 3 sisters: Evelyn Smith, Doris McNall and Thelma Stevens.
Eileen had previously been employed as an office manager for Dr. William Townsend and also for Dr. Russell Zack. She was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son: Brian of Kansas City, MO; 2 daughters: Judith Primrose and Sharon Sorrentino both of Rochelle; 3 sisters: Louise Vogel of Wichita, KS, Jewell (Don) Ward of El Dorado, KS and Nadine (Bill) Wahl of Fremont, CA; 8 grandchildren: Tiffany (Pete) Glenn, Kip (Lynn) Minor, Shelley Lawson, Drew (Christy) Primrose, Shawn (Marvin) Schabacker, Colleen (Steve) Esterday, Susan (John) VerSchave and Kenneth Listak; 15 great grandchildren: Brittany Pelka; Cory and Chris Glenn; Lauren and Kevin Schabacker; Aaron, Emmi, Megan and Nathan Primrose; Ariana Esterday; Jonathan, Jessica and Shayla VerSchave; and Zach and Allison Minor.
A memorial service will be held at Rochelle United Methodist Church in Rochelle with Rev. Jon
Hutchison officiating on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held one hour
prior to the service at the church on Tuesday from 10 to 11. Unger-Horner Funeral Home assisted the family with the services and burial of cremains will be at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to the Rochelle United Methodist Church, Unity Hospice or ALS Foundation.
