MABEL TILTON MILLER, age 94 of Rochelle Died on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Franklin Grove Nursing Center. She was born on December 22, 1913 in Ogle County, IL to Daniel L. And Mabel Trenholm Tilton. She married Ward A. Miller on June 16, 1940 at her home in rural Rochelle, IL, he preceded her on March 19, 1999. Mabel was a 1932 graduate of Rochelle Township High School, 1936 graduate of Cornwell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. Taught 4 years at Fisher School in Ogle County, IL and 29 years as a 4th grade teacher in Rochelle Elementary Schools.

She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Rochelle Hospital Auxiliary, Historical Society, Illinois Education Association, Ogle-Lee County Retired Teachers Association, and the Rochelle Women's Club.

She is preceded in death by an infant son: David, 2 sisters: Florence Tilton and Maude Biggers, 2 brothers: Emmett Tilton and her twin: Mark E. Tilton; nieces Della Mae Lazier, Marian Henderson, Ann Pierce, and nephew: Daniel Tilton.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, Rochelle.
