Mackenzie T. Downing, 25, of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 in Rochelle as the result of an accident at work. He was born on July 1, 1985 in DeKalb, IL, to Richard Dean and Sheila Faith (Meacham) Downing. He was employed by Transworld Plastic Film Inc. in Rochelle.

Survivors include his parents: Richard Downing and Sheila Meacham of Rochelle, and maternal grandparents: Evelyn and Jerry Meacham of Rochelle; paternal grandmother: Sonya Laramie of Rock Hill, SC; Tara Johnson of Rochelle, who he made his home with; brother Matt (Kellie) Downing of Rochelle; sisters: Jennifer Sidebottom and Tessa Sidebottom both of Rochelle; and niece: Mackayla Downing.

Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St, in Rochelle on Tuesday,
Sept. 7, 2010 with Rev. Chad Hall of Grace United Church, at 10:30 AM.
Visitation at Unger-Horner from 2 to 6 PM on Monday, Sept. 6th. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. A memorial fund has been established to Tails Humane Society in DeKalb.
