Madeline Elaine "Lovie" Vincent, 85, of Rochelle, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. She was born March 2, 1937, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ross and Virginia (Shull) Harmon. She married James A. "Jim" Vincent on June 3, 1961, in Milan, IL.

Lovie worked at McCabe's Department Store in Rock Island for many years before she met Jim. After they married, she stayed at home and raised her son. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Everyone liked whatever she would make, especially her famous coconut cream pies. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, being with her animals, and riding horses, especially trail riding with her husband and son. Lovie was renowned for her black walnut harvest, which she would use to bake and give as gifts to other members of the family for baking.

Lovie is survived by her son, Dan (Tina) Vincent of Rochelle; granddaughter, Cassidy Vincent of Rochelle; a brother, Don (Gerry) Harmon of Aledo, IL; a sister, Beverly Salmonson of Moline, IL and several nieces.

Lovie is preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Virginia Harmon; her husband, Jim Vincent; and a brother-in-law, Don Salmonson.
