Malcolm (Bill) Earl Roberson, 85, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 in Rockford, Illinois. Bill was born February 27, 1929 to Thomas Henry and Elsie (Cain) Roberson in Russellville, Alabama. He was employed by Del Monte and Swift in Rochelle and then retired from G.E. in DeKalb, IL. On August 31, 1986, he married Sandra Wallin in Rochelle.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Roberson, grandson, Jeremy Bruce, two brothers: John and Henry Roberson and four sisters: Corrine Rhodes, Wilma Holmes, Mae Frazier and Nell Hodge.

Bill is survived by five children: Bobby (Christie) Roberson, Billy (Sandy) Roberson, Jerry Roberson all of Rochelle, Rebecca (Dave) Champion of Rockford, IL, and Rachel (Gene) Dalton of Forreston, IL; three step-children: Judy (Mike) Wilson, John (Leslie) Jacox and Jenny (Andy) Thorpe; brother, Spencer Roberson of Rochelle, six sisters: Jean Millsap, Margaret (Elton) Jack both of Haleyville, AL, Elnor (Orvil) McDonald of Rockford, IL, Peggy (Stanley) Waite of Edmonds, WA, Patricia Jones of Glascow, KY and Carol (Rodney) Burgoyne of Coloma, MI; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Per Bill's request, cremation rites will take place immediately with no service. The Unger-Horner Funeral Home is assisting the family with the plans.
