An eight pound six ounce red haired bundle of personality arrived August 5, 1964 in Brookings, S.D. to Chan and Marge Pike. She was named Marcia Faye Pike. She changed that name to Marcia Faye Thompson on November 29, 1980 when she was joined in marriage to Robert Thompson.
Their life together took them from Minnesota to Colorado and Illinois. During those years Marcia was employed by the Hillman Group as a Sales Representative. The couple was privileged to raise four beautiful children, numerous cats and dogs and invite many other young people to share in their home.
Marcia, 46, of Ashton, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.
Survivors include her husband: Rob of Ashton, children: Dustin (Melissa Sullivan) Thompson of Rochelle, IL, Tyler Thompson of Ashton, IL, Michael Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, and Nicole Thompson of Ashton, IL; granddaughter Roshel Thompson of Arnold, MO; mother: Marge Pike of Jackson, MN. Sisters: Linda (Billy) Tarrant of Anderson, SC, Wanda (Lynn) Jones of St. Louis Park, MN; brother: Dan (Jean) Pike of Jackson, MN; in-laws: Merle and Cathy Thompson of Jackson, MN. brother-in-law: Rick (Diane) Thompson of Jackson, MN, and sister-in-law: Cindy (Ross) Bettin of Sherburn, MN; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her father: Chan Pike; nephew: Ryan Kielblock; and niece: Jennifer Bettin.
Services will be held at the Ashton United Methodist Church on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service with Rev. Paul Zeman and Rev. Kent Svendsen officiating. Visitation at the Ashton United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from to 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorials have been established. Burial at Ashton Cemetery. Arrangements by Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.
Death should not end a personal story for someone with a thousand-watt smile, an infectious laugh, and the ability to make friends and keep them for life.
