Margery Ann Behrends, age 78, of Mendota, died Monday March 26, 2012 at the Mendota Community Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Flagg Township, IL, the daughter of John H. and Hazel Marie Rainwater Behrends. Margery worked as a bookkeeper for Kepner Insurance and then for the Mendota Community Hospital prior to retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister: Marilyn Springman, and brother: Charles Behrends.

Survivors include her partner and special friend: Delores Jones of Mendota, sister: Evelyn Hintzsche of Rochelle, sister-in-law: Joy Phillips of Rochelle, and 9 nieces and nephews: John (Lauren) Hintzsche, Jo Ellen (Barney) Roberts, Kimberly (Ed) King, Joel (Kathy) Springman, Lonny (Mary Kay) Springman, Janet (Ronald) Freeman, Brenda (Raymond) Rainwater, Alan (Sue) Behrends, and Gail (Jeff) Myers.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with the Rev. Norm Stark officiating. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 10 - 11:00 am prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at the Lawnridge Cemetery, Rochelle.
