Marjorie Betts, 83, of Creston, passed away June 8, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 2, 1927, the daughter of Fred and Barbara Heal. She worked many years at the Creston Post Office, becoming postmaster in 1984. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Heal and Clifford Heal, a sister, Eleanor Foster, and a daughter Vicki Betts. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Betts, daughter Kristi Betts of Madison, Wis., and a brother Francis Heal of Texas. A memorial service will be held Sat. July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. In leiu of flowers, a memoral may be made to the Tails Humane Society of DeKalb.
