Marjorie P. Gustafson, age 89, of Rice Lake, WI, formerly of Esmond, IL, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Rice Lake Convalescent Center.
She was born on March 1, 1922 in Belden, NE to Rev. Francis and Olive (McKenzie) Aucock. After graduating from High School she then attended Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln, NE. Marjorie was married to Stanley Gustafson of Esmond, IL in Byron, IL. She was a homemaker most of her life and then became the Postmistress in Esmond, IL for many years. Marjorie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Esmond, IL since 1942. She liked to read, sew and travel.
Marjorie Gustafson is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sheron & Gary Gunn of Birchwood, WI and JoAnne & Dan Swanson of Huntley, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl & Sandy Gustafson of Sandwich, IL; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Gustafson; her parents, Rev. Francis & Olive Aucock; and 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Olive & Fred Anderson, Ethel & Gerald Higgins and Frances & John Nickens.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Esmond United Methodist Church in Esmond, IL with Rev. David Rogula officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 AM prior to funeral service.
