Obituary

Mark Alan Detig, age 48, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at his home in Lindenwood with his family by his side after a courageous fight against cancer.
He was born on June 27, 1959 in Rochelle, the son of James A. and Barbara A. (Fischer) Detig.
Mark married Norna Lynn Jaeger on August 28, 1982 in Rochelle. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle and was a farmer and seed corn dealer.

Mark loved family, farming, horses and golf. He was past Chief and present member of the Lindenwood Fire Department;
past president of Eswood School Board; and was member of the Ogle county 4-H Fair Swine Committee and Ogle County Pork Producers. He served as Lynnville Township Road Commissioner and had been a boys basketball coach at Eswood Grade School.

Survivors include his wife, Norna of Lindenwood; a son: Joel and a daughter: Jacklyn both of Lindenwood; a brother: Michael Detig of Lindenwood; and 3 sisters: Nancy (Mike) Reed of Rochelle, Susan Gilbert of Seattle, WA, and Mary Detig of Lindenwood and 4 nieces: Erin,
Kate, and Allison Reed and Emily Gilbert.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Rev. David Peck officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18th, from 2 to 5 PM at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to the Family and also the Lindenwood Fire Department.
