Marshall J. Wolfe, age 88, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Rochelle Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 27, 1923 in Mayfield Township, Dekalb County, Illinois, the son of Marshall L. and Stella Coleman Wolfe. Marshall served in the US Army during WWII, and then worked as a punch press operator for Barbara Greene. He married Cleo M. Files Montgomery on June 27, 1970 in Rochelle, she preceded him in death on December 7, 2000. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3878. Preceded in death by his step son: Jimmy Montgomery, nephew: Mark Wollenweber, and step son-in-law, George Joskoskie.
Survived by his 3 step children: Tommy (Joyce Kay) Montgomery of Paragould, AR; Emma Jean (Ivan) Sexton of Paragould, AR; and Charlene Joskoskie of Simpsonville, SC; sister: Helen Wollenweber of Elkhardt, IN; nephew: Gary (Cynthia) Wollenweber of Cincinnati, OH; 9 step grandchildren: Rob (Anna) Joskoskie, Mike (Laurie) McCulloch, Sandra (John) Gevers, Cheryl (Kevin) Barringer, Tammy Montgomery, Pam (Burt) Walker, Lauren Montgomery, Kyle Montgomery and Lindsey Montgomery; and many step great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Rev. Doug Cowan officiating. Visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral.
Burial at the Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb, with military services by VFW Post 3878.
