Martha L. Erbes, 93, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Martha was born on December 23, 1924 to H. Lee and Juliet (Dodge) Alverson in Bloomington, IL. She graduated from Illinois State University in 1948. After graduating, Martha married Fred R. Erbes on August 28, 1948 in Bloomington, IL. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gregg Nybo and her sister, Helen (Charles) Salch.

Martha is survived by her husband of 70 years, Fred of Rockford; two children: John (Julie) Erbes of Murphysboro, IL and Lynn Nybo of Rockford, IL; sister, Bette Curran of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Kate O'Connor, Andrew Erbes, and Aaron Erbes; and two great-grandchildren: Aislinn and Greer O'Connor.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00, Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
