Mary Bloomingdale, 69, of Rochelle, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Rochelle Rehab and Living Center. Mary was born January 31, 1953, in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Harold and Wilma (Wiseman) Onley. She married Charlie Bloomingdale on December 2, 1989 in Rockford.

Mary loved to cook. She worked as a cook in several area restaurants, including the Track Inn in Davis Junction and Don's Café in Byron. She was passionate about reading and amassed quite a book collection. She loved horses and collected horse memorabilia.

Mary is survived by her siblings, Daniel Onley of Rochelle, Penny (Gene) Allen of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Darin (Kathy) Onley of Rochelle; brother-in-law, Tom Paul of Woodstock, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many step-children and step-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Wilma Onley; husband, Charlie Bloomingdale; and sisters: Dawn Paul, Cindy Onley, and Donna Kievit.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle with Daniel Onley and Pastor Jed Cary officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
