Loves Park

Mary Suzanne Mitchell Burgess, 2/24/1932, died peacefully at home in Loves Park, IL, on Friday, May 17, 2019 surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years (Aug. 2019), George Edward Burgess; her daughters: Loretta (Mike) Thompson and Teresa Shriver; seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, loving relatives, like Sharon Spencer Wallace, and friends.

Mr. & Mrs. B. are best known for serving the Rochelle community as the long-term owner / operators of Country School Restaurant.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Riverside Community Church in Machesney Park. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services from 10 - 11:00 am on Friday, with a luncheon to follow services. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Garden in Machesney Park at a later date, as it was Ed and Suzie's wish to be buried together. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Riverside Church Memorial Fund.
