Mary Alice Ellison, age 63, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Park Place Nursing Center in Belvidere, IL. She was born on October 7, 1951 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Roy and Lillian Gosda Knecht. She had worked at Erie Foods International in Rochelle before retiring. Mary married Calvin Ellison on September 29, 1998, he preceded her in death on October 15, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her father, an infant son, and her brother: Warren Knecht.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Michael (Marie) Baker of Rochelle, and John (Susan) Baker of Ontario, Canada; 6 grandchildren: Emily, Morgan, Mariah, Marissa, Justin and Tyler; mother: Lillian Knecht; and sister: Karen (Dr. David) Smith of Wisconsin.

Funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 - 10:15AM prior to the funeral. Burial at the Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb. A memorial has been established to the JDRF for Juvenile Diabetes.
